In 2009, the South Carolina-based rock band Kentucky Shine (formerly Part Time Heroes) were asked to write/record 8 songs for the movie Blood, Sweat & Beers.
The Canadian documentary is an epic look at the trials, tribulations and eventual triumph of the Bentley Generals—a rough neck semi-pro hockey team from a town of 1,000 people. With an entire town behind them and an unyielding passion for a sport they hold sacred, the players and town embark on a year-long quest for the prestigious Allan Cup. The film captures the heartache and headaches off the ice, as wives leave, players quit, and dreams are both shattered and put back together again. Held together by a common goal, a rural town, and a coach who will break their backs if it brings a trophy back to Bentley, the film shows viewers the true side of living and dreaming in a hockey town
