Traffic pattern with Cirrus SR-20 on KPAO

Kate is flying a traffic pattern with Cirrus SR-20. The video was recorded on Sony high definition video camera and edited with iMovie on a Mac. The YouTube quality unfortunately does not compare to the original 1080 full-hd -version.

The radio communications was recorded by placing a tiny microphone inside between the ear and the headset. What you hear is what it sounds like in the plane with headsets on. You can thus notice that the Cirrus is a very quiet plane, feels more like being in a luxury car than in an airplane. The SR20 is easy and fun to fly.

nice video, i like it, but is it hard to use the Sr 20 control column?

Not hard at all. I like it very much. However, I find the Diamond DA40 is even easier to fly, but the Cirrus certainly isn't bad in ergonomy, quite much the contrary.

The biggest downside of Cirrus is the stick feel, you are pushing and pulling against a spring instead of airload. It makes harder to fly accurately.

We were spending our vacation by flying in San Francisco bay-area. This was Kate's first familiarization flight on Cirrus SR20 and what you see here is actually the part of the latter part of the flight.

@rockydavine Not 'illegally' just not as advised by POH. The CAPS is not a required system to fly.  It's not as if the Airspeed indicator weren't working.

cool vid, but the plane's being operated illegally. the caps (parachute) pin is still installed. (you can tell because the mandatory instruction placard Remove Before Flight is attached to the pin, and it's visible hanging from the center of the cabin headliner.)

I record my audio using a pocket-sized digital voice recorder and a 1/8" male to 1/4" male cable. I edit it to the video using imovie or finalcut express. No external mic on the video recorder required :)

My school just bought a bunch of SR20's...I liked the DA40 better.
