  • @bbensted that's NOT true at all! Do you know what the 1# contributor to most prevalent diseases are 1) Obesity : Blood pressure , Diabetes, stroke and heart diseases That's not MY or anyone else's fault or responsibility that's all.. welcome to the universe. It's that simple.. we could spend all day about all the things that happen in this world that do not happen to other people and trying to equal everything out in our existence is a absurd endeavor!

  • @carlindelco but its not that simple. Yes HC is personal, but a person's risk of needing HC is largely random and predetermined (genetics, income bracket).

  • @bbensted That's why I have fire insurance.. that I BUY NOT someone else.. that's why... and the fire dept protects the public safety by preventing it from spreading say like the Chicago fire of 1871. Man do you guys even ever try to think? The fire and police is an example of the Public welfare it protects everyone EQUALLY.. HC is PERSONAL welfare that is different for everyone. A broken leg for 1 person is not the same cost as brain surgery..like you would get if u had one. I win again ! thnx

  • @carlindelco personal choice affects the chances of you're house catching fire too. Why not privatize the fire dept?

  • @lubermanl Listen I don't know how clearer I can be. The police and firemen prevent the propagation of crime and or fire destroying the cities and people. They are NOT a for profit operation. HC is It is for personal health which may be affected by personal choices, drinking smoking, anal sex, etc It is a for profit operation. Despite your desires we the taxpayers can not afford to pay for everything that people WANT. socialized HC is a failure see Canada and England!

  • @carlindelco

If you believe that people should be allowed to gamble with healthcare, despite the benefits. IE you acknowledge that healthcare is socially beneficial, but not worth making mandatory. Then shouldn't you be able to gamble with regards to fire and police as well? The fire dept will prevent fire from spreading to those with insurance, and police will protect people with police insurance.

  • @carlindelco

"if there is a crime or a fire, hundreds of people can be affected. If someone gets sick it's 1 person. NOT the whole community"

Are you familiar with germ theory?

Sorry, I'm unclear as to why you support police and fire for their social benefits. But think that healthcare doesn't have any. Do you believe that healthcare has no social benefits? or do you think police and fire should be privatized? or can you explain your inconsistency. Do you not understand how illness can spread?

  • @lubermanl Look I can see you have no intellect for this debate. The fire and police are benefiting all people in a community that hires the police force. If there is a crime or a fire, hundreds of people can be affected. If someone gets sick it's 1 person. NOT the whole community. People WANT safety.. people have a CHOICE on HC some people who earn $50,000 don't have HC by choice! I can see you want everyone else to pay for YOUR personal health, housing , cars etc. but that would be socialism

  • @carlindelco

So you are in favour of police and fire because they are socially beneficial. Interesting. When you get sick, where did that come from? Do you think if other people are sick you are more likely to get sick? Is public healthcare not socially beneficial? If the free market is so much better for healthcare, why not privatize police and fire again? Should people sick or property on fire have the right to not buy insurance, even though the fire/sickness could spread? Or is it their prob

  • @lubermanl ahh again you liberal demonstrate your illiteracy to the issues. The police force and fire are provided for in the general welfare, they are NOT a per diem cost controlled by a commercial for profit enterprise. Plus and this is a big one , in regards to police there needs to be uniform enforcement of laws and a central integration of criminal data and process. Also individual towns already in effect have their OWN police force? They have there own Fire dept. Doh!!! I win thanks
