The late Molly O'Day doing another all time favorite. A great singer from years gone by with a true mountain voice for singing. It has been said that Molly told the great singer Wade Mainer to take his instruments and play them for the glory of God!
@carlenecarter52 Yes this is America, and this is our music. Excellent stuff. There was a singer Carlene Carter a couple of decades back. I'm guessing you're a fan.
I grew up listening to Molly O'Day. Her unmistakable voice still rings in the mountains of Virginia still today. Thanks so much for the post, and God Bless.
Lynn Davis was my cousin. HIs wife molly passed away when I was 3. But I knew him in the last of his life. He would broadcast a gosple program on the radio 5 days a week and always open and close with an piece of this song. He died 2 weeks before christmas. His daughter said all he wanted that year was to spend it with Molly. I found this and I am in tears as Lynn would be. Thank you for keeping the old spirts alive. Scincerely Harold Davis Jr.
I used to have her 78 record called "The Tramp on the Street." This was done in the 40's I believe. It was a favoriite of mine.

Very few people remember Molly O'day today , but they should remember that this music is the start of country/ blue grass music .
Molly O'Day and Woody Guthrie - prophets before their time .
