Pasarela de los concursantes, vestidos de noche, y la Coronacion de la Reina del bicentenario, Omaha - 2010 The City of Omaha recognizes 65 different immigrant groups, and celebrates the richness of diversity as it has done for the past 156 years, with festivals and parades on nearly a weekly basis. Originally came people from Germany, Italy, Ireland and Poland, (many of them refugees), but more recently from Russia, Ukraine, Sudan, and the Baltic states. Every year in September Hector Moreno produces a beauty pageant. The theme of this year's extravagant event was "Queen of the Bicentennial," which celebrates Mexico's 200 years of independence.
