I used to go here as a kid every year from London. I love the place. Haven't been back in years but would love to go one day.

@wombat1948 My first job was working for C.H. Chaston in Holland-on-Sea as a builders clerk in 1961. Ron Covell was my boss. I worked there for 2 years before returning to Canada in 1963.

Great video! Does anyone know the name of the music track or the artist? Thanks for the memories :)

I was born and went to school in Clacton and would have been 7 when this video was made. It does bring back some very fond memories. Anyone remember the Butlins camp which we all used to sneak in to?...lol

This video brings back wonderful memories of Clacton as it was when I first came down here to do a `summer season` ,in May 1969,as solo organist at Valley Farm Camping Ground(as it was called then-owned by local families-Pawsey and Chaston) and the entertainments manager was famous bandleader, Ronnie Mills, with Ron Covell the general manager.
Things were totally different then-Clacton was a resort, buzzing with entertainment.
Thanks for the memories,
