One of the fundamentals in a successful business is selling well. Tony Gattari's main claim to fame is the huge growth he achieved in computer sales at Harvey Norman and since then he has been advising businesses. He believes in the absolute need to up-sell and cross-sell and argues they shouldn't be used as dirty words. In this video he provides helpful sales tips on how up-sell and how to cross-sell

What is up selling? Up-selling is positioning a superior product at a better price. It is finding opportunities to sell a more profitable product. Selling the lowest priced product will generate the lowest profit per product. Sell the best product to the customer. In this way you are saying "I am offering you the best because you deserve the best".

In the meantime, cross-selling is selling or offering related products to the customer, for example offering a printer, a mouse or paper with a purchase of a computer.
