How Donna Mac uses Henna.
I purchased my Henna from Mehandi.com
Its Body Art Quality Henna for African Hair.
I really like the quality,a very fine sift.
I used:
300 g Henna
Lemon Juice
Orange Juice
1/2 cup cinnamon spice
Mix until it looks like yogurt, I then placed it in the oven on the lowest setting possible for about 20 minutes.
I covered my bowl with plastic wray let it sit on the counter for nine hours. I applied the Henna to my hair and scalp. I set under a bonnet dryer off and on for six hours. I soaked in a tub of warm water, rinsed and rinsed, then cowashed. The next day I deep conditioned my hair and used Coconut Oil to seal in the Henna. My hair became a deep rich burgandy in twenty four hours. I love it.

  • u didnt use any water in your henna?

  • @aeRalization water causes the red color to fade to yellowish-orange. So the best way is to use orange juice or lemon juice in your henna.

  • Why do we need to let the henna paste sit for nine hours? I'm going to henna my (black) hair for the first time and the pack says that I can directly apply it onto my hair. Anyway, thanks for all parts of your henna tutorial. Yours are among the most informative, useful and amazing henna videos.

  • True henna has to release its color slowly, this is why you allow it to sit in a warm place covered with plastic. When it has gone from green to brown it can be applied to your hair. Remember to cover you hair with plastic to keep the henna moist it will harden if you dont cover it and hard henna is not as easily rinsed out as soft clay like henna. Use lots of cheap conditioner after you rinse the henna from your hair. Have fun!

  • why the cinnamon?

  • Some people say cinnamon adds more red color, some even say red wine adds color. The cinnamon makes your hair smell soooo nice...

  • @TheMakeupvirgin.... Adding orange juice or lemon juice is too acidic for hair.

  • This is pretty good! I love henna, my mom been doing it for me since i was 13. i do it once a month and i have curly afro hair. Henna is in my culture and tradition dating back to the pharaohs and i dont think you need all those ingredients in there. What we do is buy henna thats red, add olive oil and some vingear and water and thats it. keep it as natural as possible. your meant to leave it in for 4hrs or more or you can do it at night and wash it out in the morning..the longer the better :)

  • @TheMakeupvirgin Is it true that henna makes your hair grow longer?

  • my hair is naturally black...can i use henna to achieve a brownish color?

  • @aeRalization
