@Yanna131094 Thanks for the kind words. This machine likes regular WW yarn. It will even knit Red Heart WW. I have found that what ever yarn you have that recommends US 7, 8, or 9 needles and is smooth will work well. All knitting machines hate nubby, uneven yarns. The exception is eyelash yarn. Eyelash yarns work well in knitting machines. If in doubt about a yarns suitability, just do a sample piece with at least 15-20 rows and see how it goes. I never force the gears. Never force it.

Thank you for your great vids and insights. Love the vice bench. I'm going to talk to my honey and see if we can set one up for me! Have fun!

Hi! Nice job on the video and great set-up idea with the vise bench!
Just an FYI- The NSI Innovations is still available. Right now, Mary Maxim, Fingerhut, and Hobby Lobby have them... I just got mine through Hobby Lobby this week- only $42.99 w/free Priority Mail shipping!
Thanks for all your videos. I'll be watching them all to learn how to use my machine!!

Shaping involves short rowing (inc or dec a st on each row & putting needles in hold)which is impossible with the crank knitters as one can not put the needles in a "hold" position so they do not knit. Cables involve putting at least 2 sts on a holder and moving 2 sts over in their place. That puts a lot of strain on the needles (& tension on the yarn). I have had no luck doing either of these things on a crank knitr. I use a flatbed knitter or CSM for those. I wish we could do shaping!!
I got the prym knitting machine from mary maxim company on-line. It is the same excact machine except for the color. I am having trouble with the tension of the yarn. I am using red heart super saver yarn. Can you give me any advice? Your work bench is a great idea.

@libertylady64 I understand the Prym is the same machine. What kind of tension problem? I use Super Saver all the time with my Innovations. It takes minimal tension as it is a pretty heavy yarn. I usually just use 1 or 2 rungs on the tension device and no extra tension. I pull yarn from the source skein into a puddle so there is no extra tension on the yarn. Do NOT let the machine pull from the skein directly, it will create way too much tension ...most important.

I got mine off eBay from seller Toolsamerica or maybe it was toolamerica. They are still selling it. Just do a search for workbench vise. Cost & shipping remain about the same! Some assembly required, but I did it easily & quickly. No affiliation!
