While shooting photos at the JJ Grey & Mofro show at the Vogue Theater in Indianapolis, IN I thought I would test out the HD video option on my new Nikon D7000.

The video quality is shot at 720p at 30 fps in Aperture Priority mode (set to f2.8) with a Sigma 15mm fisheye lens. I keep it on manual focus because I have had some serious doubts about the autofocus in video mode and just used my little pinky so focus as JJ worked the stage.

The audio is brutal but I am not sure if that is because I used just the D7000's internal mic and was standing right next to a stage monitor. Either way, its pretty rough (but it was really loud).

Great show no matter what the quality of the video!

  • @Flynnie38 The D7000 is my first DSLR that shoot video and where I am pretty happy with it, there are some things I really don't like. The autofocus is pretty terrible, the internal mic is crap for anything more than just shooting in your living room & it doesn't have 60fps for slowmo like the Canon. Still a nice camera though.

  • Nicely done and some good music, been eyeing up the D7000 and judging by the number of secondhand D90's on the market so are a lot of others.
