Well actually I believe BEP had the original writers consent for that. I doubt they would do it otherwise.
As for Bad Romance, Self Esteem was released in 1994(best year ever), and Bad Romance is from 2008.
So I don't know, maybe Gaga is copying, maybe not. Maybe it is a huge misunderstanding. Maybe it's hero worship, maybe she is such a fan of Offspring, she just had to copy.
Until the time comes when we find out, I'm content to leave this subject alone.

@pizzacutman She's stupid but even my 60 year old English teacher knows who Offspring is. Plus this wouldn't be something new: every popular band/artist seems to copy or sample another song to make their "own". Like Black Eyed Peas who sampled Dick Dale's Misirlou to make My Humps.

You nailed the song a lot better than I imagined. Being The Offspring, it has a very raw sound to it, but you still managed to be clean and crisp and come out very on-key.
