New Jersey USA takes custody of a child named Adolf Hitler from the Campbell family

FLEMINGTON, N.J. - A New Jersey couple who gave their children Nazi-inspired names -- including "Adolf Hitler" -- Monday failed in their bid to retain custody of their newborn son.

Heath and Deborah Campbell were seeking to regain custody of five-day-old Hons, whom the Campbells said was taken by Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) officials last Thursday, after Deborah gave birth at a local hospital.

It was not clear if the court hearing involved the couple's three other children, who have been in foster care since 2009. They are named Adolf Hitler Campbell, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell.

The Campbells made national headlines in 2009 when a grocery store wouldn't put the name of their son, Adolf Hitler Campbell, on a birthday cake.

The couple claims they lost custody of baby Adolf, and the two other children, because of the Nazi origin of their names. They were removed from their home in Philipsburg, N.J., by the state in January 2009.
