This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. I grew up in the south as a kid. Had allot of friends who lived in rural parts, trailer parks, etc.  I've lost allot of them to drugs, crime and suicide over the years. One of my closest friends, last I heard went missing and was found in The Bronx, naked in a gutter. That was 1996. I don't know how any of them fared or where they are now. This song sounds like my life.

It's cool how the piano is just a little out of tune. It is intentional and goes perfectly with the melody and lyrics. It's like she's playing an old piano in a dusty, dark room. Cool.
