heather nova paper cup contest

Hi, this was my contribution for the heather nova paper cup contest. I was attending for the Nov. 2nd 2009 in Holland, Breda the Chasse Theater.

Though I knew that I wouldn't win because Heather's gig was an acoustic event. Still it was fun to enter the contest and I saw a few familiar faces around there

Used instrument: Fender Strat., played left-handed.

The dancing woman: a CGI of DAZ Victoria 3, rendered with Carrara 7 Pro

Background : when playing the classic song 'papercup' from Heather Nova I thought about how Jimi Hendrix would play the song on the guitar if he were still among us.

So this is my 'Jimi Hendrix' interpretation of a great song written by Heather Nova.

I'm absoluitelly agree with you and I think that your "paper cup" version is the best, because it sounds diferent and you play the guitar very well. I like it.. I'm going to travel to London (Union Chapel) on November 6, and I hope sincerelly you will play with Heather and I could invite you (both) to have a drink or something...

Thanks for your nice words... and yes, I know: a cat on a roof sings way better then me ;-)

I don't want to sing this song on stage though.

The reason why I decided to the vocals in the video clip is because I didn't want to do a cover of the original song, but change it a bit into a rock version and I think that this sounds OK ;-)
