A poem by Zachary Hayes put into a photostory. Music by Rob Rodgers.

Written in Water by Zachary Hayes

By simply breaking my heart in two, Id take a piece and give the rest to you. My heart aches like a strike on the emotions Ive compressed to pain. Waiting for you to say I forgive, I love, I need you, my arms would open to wade through memories, cascading in my mind in reverse order to reveal the script of our fate written in water. Here I am drowning in the fountain of life where it all began, cradling the flip of chance that were born dead from the crib to our final bed. The same bed where I spent weeks drying tears. Dress me in wounds, a red scarf, and take this dull knife to my skin. Slice my cheek down to my chin.
Mans dream is to die in his sleep and be spared having to face his end in wake. A closed book forgotten on an elapsed shelf could never be so lucky to have this fate. It is left to deteriorate and become a factor of depreciated history. There I will hide, a closed book, in fear that chance will have its own plan because if we couldnt be fate then how could fate be. Destiny seizes the very thing it fashions while we sink in a bout of our fraudulent passions.
If I truly cant shatter your feelings which pull you away, then I force a smile to draw myself closer to you again and be your synthetic friend. So, with the final possibilities that lead me onto hope I can only ask you take my hand before I fall and you leave me. Leave me with your old opportunity and leave me without God-given choice. You are the light which keeps me cursing night, the breeze on my back and ease of my despair. I divulge the flaws which hold me back as I gnaw at the thought of you looking at me from far away as I float distantly into the night till the light brings day.

  • I wrote a poem too... about what somebody wrote to me on a Sumi-e board (a framed peice of parchment where water shows up black). naturally it would also bear the title Written in Water (because she wrote she loved me in the water).

I found this vid because I wanted to see if the title was taken... but then again I guess everything is, even her.

I like your poem better... mine is only 12 lines long though. it's posted on a playlist.

  • I love this. :)
