Hello Iam new to Mugen i just Soft Modded my xbox with SID Splintercell installled a new 500Gb HDD and iam trying to Play Xmugen on my xbox i already partioned the f drive and g drive as u can see here can any one please help me????
@Wallcrawler That could be a problem for you then, the F partition where xmugen is kept needs to be under 250GB in size. If F is bigger than 250gb it will be formatted in 32k clusters which will not allow Xmugen to run.
Shoot me a PM and i'll send you a link to a working xmugen that i used on my softmodded box.
@cvick14tx One more thing, not sure if this helps, I got C, E, and an F partition where all the rest of the space goes. I don't have a G partition. Hopefully that wouldn't make a difference. Are you using seperate FAT partition tables? If so is your F drive below 137 gigabytes?
@cvick14tx Appreciate your insight. But I made sure to migrate the F versions of MUGEN I got to my 500 GB hard drive with the folder labeled xmugen. Risk1swap did not make a difference and I used both the 1 GB and 2 GB versions. Maybe if you could send me your MUGEN F drive version, I'll uninstall the current one I put on E and send it to my computer, I'll upload yours and let you know the results. It doesn't have to have a bunch of characters, so long as there's two I can test out.
@Wallcrawler It should work just fine. Make sure it's in F/Games and is named "xmugen". I know it works for softmods as i'm playing it now on a 250GB. All of the launcher files are looking for the folder F/Games/xmugen so if it's not named properly it wont work. In this video it looks like it cant find the swap file (risky1swap) so you should try to rename the folder first and see what it does.
You sure, I hear even with that change it still doesn't work in conjunction with a softmodded XBOX. Unless you put it on the E drive with default space. =(
Now, this has yet to be reported WORKING by a softmod user (I doubt many have tried). However an experienced Xbox Patron suggests this: While in XBpartitioner make sure to create an F Partition with 137 GB and assign 16k clusters instead of 32k... Supposedly this will allow Xbox to process XMugen better. It may allow it to run on an the softs extended partition.
Other reports claim you don't need to create 2 partitions. You can have a 500 GB HDD and still run XMugen. So said an Xecuter dev.
Poor guy. :( I feel your pain bro, I've been dealing with this issue for weeks myself. I found a couple reports which states that XMugen only works on chipped Xboxes because they use modified BIOS whereas softmod box still use the original BIOS during boot. XMugen will recognize the original file system in it's default state Drives E & C but it won't register any extended FAT partitions unless these BIOS are replaced in lieu of chipped contents.

yo bro, your problem was that it was named "mugen" when the config file looks for "xmugen". That will fix it all for you.

However, I did find something else interesting..
