It's like this. If the mma fighter met the boxer in the alley to fight there are no rules there the mma fighter would dominate!!!! Boxing and mma are different types of conditioning, being a cardio workhorse in one doesn't mean the same will true after a transition to the other. Since mma is still young, there's not as wide a variance in the fighters as there is in boxing. MMA is already getting their own journeymen and starting to incorporate tune-up fights, it won't be too much longer before they become the same sport with different rules. Structural wise anyway...

@buddhaphy I enjoy MMA the most, boxing is what I grew up with and I will always have an appreciation of it. Boxing is more quantity over quality IMO, sure they fight for 11 more minute but they also take 3x as many breaks. Both sports are incredibly hard to succeed in but MMA has better overall fighters IMO. Boxers can truly become masters of their craft but there is know master of fighting. If there was the most likely sport to see it in would be MMA because they must train for everything.

mma is physically demanding with a wear on ur whole body. boxing is physically demendading with a wear on ur brain neck and stomach and arms. mma is more skilled this nigga never bothered to do BJJ or wrestle

@GLUVSR4EVER you know paquiao did mui tai before doing boxing so I dont think hell do bad going to mma because hes fast and has ko type of power but you have to put a guy that is in hes weight class not like anderson silva thats like way heavier than him

I've done boxing so am more of a boxing fan not an mma hater but I just wanted to put this out there boxing is not dying for all of those that say that because if that was the case than mma fighter would B getting paid more than Boxers and they dont so boxing is not dying...thers a hole lot of new prospect fighters coming up this year so next year for 2012 is gonna B good now tha all the old boxers are retirering like mosely who probably would after getting a beatting from paquiao
