So yeah, this is kinda for beginners. Anyway, this is how to make/change a root password.
So here's what you do:
Sudo passwd
Type new root password
Retype
And there you go! It's pretty easy, right?

So next time, you need root permissions, to let's say remove files, you know the password.

  • Never listen to the haters. No such thing as a bad tip. I didn't know how to change root in buntu. I did know about sudo su though.

  • @meoweo Thanks for the kind words man!

  • you do

    sudo -i

  • @5agaci Haha good one :D

  • good tip, thanks

    but you can just type

    sudo su

then use your password, without having to create one for root.
