This skill could help the countrymen to inform they were on dangerous situations or need anything. Now is a tradition that could be missed.

It's not a strange custom. They're just playing around.
But this is part of the music of Panama, it's called "Salomar." It's the Influence of the Indians.
There's no music from the Interior, folklore music and dance, without it.

Well, the people that are not Panamaniam will not understand what is a Saloma, this is natural across all the towns in the inteior of Panama to hear Salomas specially when people drink, and Las Tablas is one of the towns where traditions still alive, including polleras, folklore, etc.
Meaning happy people, Panama is a mix of mestizos and we preserve traditions. How beautiful is Panama... Love Panama

cuidado manitos... esto no es saloma ... esto es grit.. la saloma es mas musical y melodica. En las competiciones se compite en dos categorias diferentes grito ( esto ) y saloma. por lo demas la explicacion es correcta

well, "saloma" is kinda like a distintive sound ,that shows your position in the field (when you are working the field) ,it also help to scare away predators and bad spirits , now what we just witness in the cantina ,is a competition in whitch the objective is to mimic the sound ,the one that can mimic the sound ..loses!!
