The Sierra Railroad in Jamestown, CA is known as the movie railroad. Hundreds of movies and TV shows were filmed using their locomotives, including "Back to the Future III" and "Petticoat Junction". This is Shay #2 that was used for logging in the mountains. We live nearby and hear the steam whistle regularily. I've told my kids "Do you know how lucky you are to hear a steam locomotive whistle where you live?" They're not impressed.
Sorry for the audio. The whistle was so loud it overwhelmed my camera.

  • LOL IT SOUNDS LIKE A RAP VIDEO OR 80'S MUSIC

  • I've never seen a steam locomotive quite like that. It looks almost like it uses a crankshaft. How remarkable.
