@DnBastard You mean when a company becomes a monopoly? How many monopolies are there in the US? I don't really know all that much about this topic, but to me it seems like the only time a company can really become a monopoly is when the government decides to make them into one... that's when they can become dangerous. Until then a company can do something stupid, but it's unlikely they'll get away with it...they might screw people over, but they will loose their reputation and fail...

@DnBastard To me it still seems like the benefits of genetically modified food are still a lot bigger than the potential dangers... I mean some people are always going to be trying to screw people over to make money, but blocking progress isn't the way to fight them... The way I see it, the simple nature of a business is to provide something of value, that people are willing to pay for, and to make money from that. If they can't provide value, they will fail...

Crops that resist disease or that will grow anywhere are awesome! but knowing the nature of corporations they won't be doing this simply to make a better product, they could start putting things in to make them addictive or even to make you ill if say the pharmaceutical company owned by the same investors was failing.

It's because of human nature that it's a bad thing.

If you're talking about his minimalist solutions to problems, remember this: if we merely used the constitution, we would not be around today. Judicial review, which has resulted in many abuses of power being declared unconstitutional, is not in the constitution. The Constitution tells us only how the government is structured, not how to perform government.
