This scene meant LIFE to me when was a 7-year-old burgeoning basketball player/fan. I haven't seen it in years. Thought I'd come and see it through tired, but clear eyes, dreams dashed, common sense honed. But this scene is so simple, from the Noah line to the amazing song. I used to dream that I'd one day teach some woman about the core of me by spending a half hour dunking a basketball in slick black slacks and shiny dress loafers while my Jag awaited our return. Still get that feeling today.

DR. J: What's wrong with two's . . . Noah believed in two's. Who wrote that? Great sequence added a lot to the movie.
Margaret Avery has always had the undeniable beauty and charm of the girl next door.
The movie has turn out to be very futuristic considering what the NBA became particularly during All Star weekend.

The scene in "Space Jam" that Michael Jordan does is a straight up copy of this one

This is the one of the greatest basketball movies I've seen. This movie actually inspired me to write a fictional basketball novel. As far as Dr. J and as far as this scene...I love it and always loved the DOC!

Dr. J was and still is "The Man". He made basketball fun to watch and to play and this movie still brings good feelings whenever I see it. I would straight up buy this DVD if it came out and be proud to put it in the archives or show it to friends on "Old School Movie Night" at the house. It sure beats watching somebody's guts blown out all over your TV screen.

It's downright amazing...the DR. that most NBA fans didn't see much of, but I saw plenty of old ABA NYNets games, & to able to throw in down like that while wearing stacks? Phenomenal!!!

Yes, this movie was all that back in the day, Dr. J is as classy as they come, and it goes without saying that he was a phenominal b ball player. I always enjoyed this scene in the movie because of this song during it, serious soul music, definitely has that Philly sound, sounds like something that the famed Philadelphia producer team of Gamble&Huff would create, awesome movie and song!!

No doubt. Thom Bell, who produced "The Fish" soundtrack was an arranger for Gamble and Huff and an essential component of the Philadelphia Int'l sound.
