  • What kind of photagraphy you shoot nathan? Studio or outside? :-)

  • Why isnt there something out there? i got two sets: Canon 16-35, 28-75 and the 70-200 2.8 II... which is as good as VR2, if not better.

And i got a cheap trinity too: Tokina 16-28, Tamron 28-75 and Sigma 70-200.

  • @jasonlsimmons Oops I forgot a part: That's where you're correct though: In a way, you're saying the 14-24 is NOT the BEST wide angle, which is VERY true.

  • @jasonlsimmons Well it is a prime, so yeah of course it's going to have the better optics. but the biggest point of this is that you can have a complete range of constant f/2.8 ranging from 14-200 and with an extender all the way to 400 :) You can't just say that the primes are going to do a better job because of course they are! They allow for simpler construction (well aside from the TS-E). The biggest downside of Nikon: No zoomable fisheye :)

  • Chillax guys, it all come down to the picture that you produce.

  • This guy is kinda of gay lol

  • @BonanzaN3214C1 Yes, they do. But the DX sensor is obviously a limit for lenses like these; I think they're the perfect choice if you're planning to change your D80 with a fullframe (FX) camera. I bought the 14-24 with a D80 too, worked great, but nothing to compare with my D700 ;)

  • @jasonlsimmons no thanks, nikkor has better primes.

  • I really do find it hard to believe you can shoot 200mm at 1/15th and slower hand held (I'm a Nikon shooter with the 70-200 VR1). It's just not happening, as awesome as the VRII is.
