i cant believe it, a month and a half ago i watched her warm up with frodo at dressage (red hills) and i was just admiring him, and now hes gone. so many horses have died in the past few months, its so sad!

It was an 8 second video of a horse running to a jump, and horribly not making it over. Hardly a "graphic video of a horse dying".
Did you make a bigger fuss over the news broadcast of 9-11? That was 10x more graphic and did in fact show death. Nascar replaying a fatal crash 40 times on national tv, backwards, forwards, slow motion...

best wishes to laine in her recovery!
Nice video and kind words, thats great!!

Thank you. On Friday I was so struck by how different she was than the other riders. She had the biggest smile all though warmup, and was the only rider I saw come out of the arena and go over to fans to take photos and let them pet Frodo. We need role models like that- I hope she'll compete again.

I agree with Matrix. Frodo was my favorite at the Rolex this year, I was at the duck pond waiting to see them when it happened. I was shocked and saddened to hear they fell. Seeing how it happened exactly, is something to learn from, it also gives people an idea of just what eventers risk. My heartfelt condolences on the loss of a gorgeous and talented horse. My thoughts and prayers go out to Laine and her family.

You don't need to see graphic video of a horse dying and a rider being critically injured to "learn" to ride better. Do you watch deadly car accidents to learn how to avoid them? Watch video of people being shot to avoid being shot?
The truth is people are just desensitized to violence and want to see the trauma of the accident for their own enjoyment. Kudos to YouTube for taking the high road.
