you can have your Xtreamer Sidewinder directly connected (usb) to your computer or via LAN and directly point your download target to it. Sidewinder2 is a very good media player and you will discover ALSO the new firmware version. i also know there is some tweak to have directly transmission or other downloader directly in the media player without using the computer. i am not the Holy Bible and i don't blame you if you are happy about your med8er. I clearly explained everything in the comparison and my tests are easily replicable. Only Part of the review are my opinions but another part are tests. Everyone can compare it if needed. i don't know why you talked about MED500X2: this test is about med8er 500 VS xtreamer pro. i never spoke about the medx2. if you are happy it's ok but don't mix facts with opinions.

I have a mede8er for over 2 years now and i´m very happy with it. Don`t get me wrong, but it´s a liitle bit stupid comparing the Xtreamer with an other mediaplayer when your channel is called xtreamer4dummies. For me it looks like you`re a fanboy of the Xtreamer. Cause some things about the mede8er in your video are not true like robert.4you already said. (And I`m not talking about the Med500X2) But hey if you prefer the Xtreamer it`s ok but in my opinion this is not a good comparison.

I gave my Xtreamer back. Even lowest fan-speed was louder than my pc. Failing to playback simple uPnP playlists. If you REALLY want your media to be kept in a box, dont buy this low-end crap. It'll cost you hours and nerves. Its good for people who love to fool around with toys. People who are expecting a real media center should look for something real. Have you ever scrolled through a list of 2000 CDs to find the song you want to play? A php-web-interface for remote-ops? Are you serious?

Hi there, I like your video guide easy to understand for a beginner as I am, I am considering buying Xtreamer SideWinder 2 with 500GB hard drive and have some thoughts about this, can I download files such as video, MP3 etc. directly from Xtreme ? .. when you choose to download a file from your PC, can I then choose to download it directly to the Xtreme hard drive? if there is someone who is a more experienced user of Xtreme maybe could answer my questions ..?

Mede8er is a far, far better mediaplayer than the xtreamer. Just read what the users say on the different forums on the Internet. Mede8er is a much more "grown up" player with less "childish things" in it compared to xtreamer. The new "Mede8er Med500X2" is a wonderful machine and has never failed me. There are lots of faults in this review: the chassi of the "MED500X2" is in metal, not plastic as stated in the vid; you can stream from Internet; has web browser, and much, much more.... Best buy!
