You are almost there... By the way I have made a small box with a 1N4005 diode in series with my 30w soldering iron ,and 2 switches one that bypasses the diode and one as an onoff switch, to run it at 15w or 30w ,works fine!

@hhoforvolts Hi Richard I'm in the final testing of the optical isolator shield, it seems to be working fine, have the drive pcb with 12 drivecircuits designedbut want to add one more sensor to each drive, a current sensing one. Right now I am working sketch trying to get it all together to fire the test drive board I have made, then it's all about finishing up the Drive pcb. It's coming together from all sides now, and going good.

You ought to enter that ancient iron contest that I saw on line somewhere last week clicking around at Amazon. I think it's Weller, or maybe on of their distributors, that's looking to see how much of their older stuff if still being used. Who knows, they might even give you a more-better iron. That would be nice.
