Pontiac G8 GT 0 - speed limiter

Stock G8. was recorded in high heat and at pretty high elevation. Speedo slows down after 100mph because it changes rates (every dash adds 10mph up to 100. After 100, it goes up by 20mph intervals)

what happens when you hit the speed limiter in the car? does it just not let you accelerate past that point or is there anything else to it?

@dimeitry It just stops at about 137 and does not accelerate anymore. This is easily removed with a tune.

@8747800 What you're saying makes no sense...You do realize that this is a video of a G8 GT right? I have hit the 137 mph limiter on my car more than once and have gone past the 137 mph limiter AFTER removing it via HPTuners. Also feel free to watch my dyno video with my GT hitting the 137 mph limiter on the dyno while testing the stock tune. And again goes past 137 mph once removed...

When you say 60+ HP, im guessing you're comparing the G8 GT to the GP GXP (303 vs 361)? GP GXP's were $28,xxx MSRP. a 2008 G8 GT was $29,995. how are you saying that the G8 GT is 20K more? Even comparing the GP GT with the 3800 is only about 5-7k difference compared to the G8 GT depending on options.

GPs are cool cars, but there are many difference between the two, that's for sure.
