I'll be a friend with Pleasure -- Paul and his Gang 1994
The Swedish band called "Paul and his Gang" concentrates very much on playing some of the music of Bix Beiderbecke. One of the later recordings of Bix is played here by the Gang. Kiki Desplat, a French cornetplayer and pianist had moved to Sweden and became Paul's fiancee and maybe is his wife here already.
I never heard this tune sang and certainly not in the French language but Kiki does it in an amazing way.
Next to Paul Strandberg on trumpet we hear Lars-Erik Strom on clarinet, Dymitr Markiewicz on trombone and in the rhythm group Jan Lundgren on piano, Jonas Eilert on sousaphone and Ragnar Tretow on the drums.

The Band's treatment of this beautiful and haunting Ballade is simply but deeply enchanting. The Vocalist treats it with a great deal of respect, depth, and sensuality- en Frances, it sounds beautiful. Great song and lyrics. I love the use of the choke cymbal on the syncopated "Upbeat" "Enchente"
