A demo of work I was doing (and playing) with back in 1994. It was all produced with a Newtek Video Toaster. I started out with Newtek from the beginning version one point something. A production studio in a box was its slogan. It truly was. I made more money with this box. I guess it began with Commodore 64 and the things you could make it do with video.. I started with the Amiga 2000 ended with the 4000. Maxed everything. A half gig hard drive that cost 999.00. A PAR card. DPS IV time base corrector (remember those). It had all those slices. Switcher, character generator, color generator, and a little jewel called Lightwave 3D. No one really knew what to do with it at first. It soon became evident. I had to have made 100,00.00 with that box. Others have made millions. I used it in live 3 camera remotes to replacing multi - projector slide shows with integrated video projected from barco's. It knocked the clients socks off . The client was Southern Living Magazine. I guess thats common fare today with powerbook presentations. But his was 1994 and WAY outside the box. I made money on everything you see in the tape. It was mastered on Beta SP but through the years it made its way to VHS and well.... it was a great time. Magazines and how to's sprouted up a whole industry flourished . Commodore and the Amiga died an untimely and unceremonious death. The "Toaster" was ported to the Apple and PC. Its slices found life in separate re-incarnations and used daily in major motion pictures and late night television. Without the Toaster and its slice Lightwave 3D we would not have Jurassic Park. The Amiga was sold of in parts and live on in some cable converters.
@HaydnRocker i started with the pet, vic 20, commodore 64 with its sprites, then on to the 2000 then the 4000. it seemed like a chunk of money but for what it did. biggest hard drive on the market, half gig, cost 999.00 many people ridiculed it but i made a ton off money with that thing. its still out there but they broke the slices apart. newtek still doing amazing stuff. i just broke down and upgraded to lightwave 10. Thanks

Man you lived the dram I wanted to live. :) I had the NewTek Toaster Demo and wanted to get into it so bad. I had a Commodore 64 as well, then an Amiga 500. But never was able to get a toaster.
