Footage from the 16th Jeepers Jamboree on the Rubicon Trail 1968. Look what these guys did with almost stock vehicles, with no lifts, oversize tires, or roll bars. Also note how many people they packed into the Jeeps for fun rather than 2 tons of camp gear like we do today.

Yes, the trail has really been destroyed by huge tires, huge rigs, and people that don't know how to drive. They want the trail to be harder and harder to test their awesome $150K rock crawler, making the trail a lot less fun for the weekend warrior with a more mild vehicle.

Amazing vehicles and Jeepers. No fuel injection, no long arm lifts, NO ROLL BARS, no oversized tires, no brush guards, no skid plates, loaded down w more people than should ride in a Jeep and yet truckin' right along. They kind of make us modern Jeepers look sort of pansy.
