"modern" tuning is 440! 415 would be like semi-tone less.
The viola da gamba is not a cousin or member of the violin family. it has arabic / mediteranean roots , fidel , vihuela..

@Trioptio Baroque tuning is A = 415 I believe and normal Tuning would be A = 420
