  • first thing is both were wrong, because the fire fighter driving the fire engine should have slowed down but also the driver of the car should have slowed down aswell or maybe stopped like the other car did. second thing is when you hear a siren going you slow down and look in your mirrors and if you don't see them you double check its common sense. i do feel for the family and for the firefighter but everyone makes mistakes, i know its someones life but these firefighter are under stress 24/7

  • r u dumb!! who wud want 2 do that 2 themselves an there family on purpose that ur sayin they shud av stopped!!

the fire engine should av slowed dwn if its passin a red lyt every knows that!! plus i bin dwn that road it is a blind spot 4 the vauxhall..

u shudnt feel sorry 4 the firefighter instead the family who has been traumatised by this and lost sum1 cos of that stupid firefighter!!!

  • The black taxi and the silver car had green light but the taxi stopped so they were aware of the sirens but the silver car probably thought the sirens were behind them and continued through the lights but why didn't the silver car stop like the taxi or was the driver not concentrating so the firefighter driving the appliance shouldn't be jailed and fired for somethin which wasn't his fault

  • @irockbox Well i think the it was the traffic lights i think they had fault

  • This is all wrong. When you are given the responsibility of driving an emergency vehicle you are trained to ignore "red mist", to detach yourself from the emotion of the incident you are attending.

It would appear this is a blind junction for both vehicles, so regardless of how urgent the incident is at the other end, the fire tender should have slowed until he was 100% certain it was clear, both directions. As an advanced driver he should have foreseen the hazard on approach to the red light,

  • @Kiyl24 I totally understand your point but i work for the LFB and drive a appliance and 99% of people really don't think twice when they see us coming or hear us. There are a load of people bitching at me because of my comments on this video and fair enough. But i see RTC's every weak but when their friend gets hurt in this case by a 12+ton fire appliance and the driver later died months on i believe, they accuse the Fire Service for everything. But the truth is both were equally in the wrong.

  • @irockbox At the speed that that fire engine was going, by the time the silver car bolted out from the cross street it would not have the room to stop. Rather hit the car hard enough to get it out of the way then hit it at a lesser speed and end up pushing it down the street.

  • @ad130608 if it slowed down the fire engine probably would have crashed into it

  • Seat belts!

  • well whats the point of feeling bad for the fire fighter, the father of the family is no dead, just seen the picture of the couple in the news paper sad i tell u husband dead n wifes neva bin the same she gt 4 kids to look after but whose gna look after her.

  • well whats the point of feeling bad for the fire fighter, the father of the family is no dead
