Tired of carrying around 12 CD's to do your job as a desktop support professional? Well, look no further! In time, I will be uploading videos on how to convert those 12 CD's into ISO's and have them boot off of a single USB flash drive!

Not only is this faster but it is more convenient and it saves on having to burn all those CD's, especially when updates come out.

Tools you will need:

1- Download latest grub4dos here: http://download.gna.org/grub4dos/
2- Download grubutil for windows: http://download.gna.org/grubutil/grubinst-1.1-bin-w32-2008-01-01.zip

  • What have you done in this video... You should have produced some sound to make it get understood easily...

  • sorry for the noob questions :

    1. How do i know my bios support booting via usb?

Because i think my computer is like 5+ years old and previously i never noticed there is any option of booting through usb drive, and i only had hdd to boot as my dvdrom is a gone case. Should i just give it a try? or is there any option of re-setting my bios to boot from usb?

    2. How do i mirror image my boot file in hdd which was factory set? Im using a dell inspiron 640m

    Many thanks appreciated

  • not helpfull at all.

  • this is a pile of fucking shit (1) invest in a mic (2) enlarge the print so we don`t need superman fucking eyes to see it(3)don`t assume we all know what the fuck your doing, this is a waste of time.

  • If you're using Windows 7 and can't see your flash drive: Right click the grubutil program > Properties > Compatibility > [Tick] Run in compatibility mode > Select Windows XP Service Pack 3 > OK.

  • Do we need the 12 CDs

  • @aliffirwan dummy restart your computer then press f12 or whichever command yours is to open your boot then select usb boot, my computer is from 2003 and i can boot via usb so you should be fine
