Mujeres Rurales:Perdiendo el Medio a las Nuevas Tecnologias

This film focuses on a project in Ecuador - run by Asociación Mujeres Juntas Parroquiales Rurales del Ecuador (AMJUPRE) and supported by IICD (www.iicd.org) - that looks to develop the capacity of local women who act as representatives of marginalised rural communities in Ecuador.

The project aims to place local governance by women leaders of juntas parroquiales in Ecuador on the map through effective, participatory and democratic local governance through knowledge management and the use of ICTs in order to improve livelihoods of rural communities; reduce gender differences; and increase the self esteem of rural women.
