  • If you listen to folk guitarists Leo Kottke, John Fahey, or any of the guitarists they influenced or mentored, you will not marked similarity in style of song-writing. I would call Elizabeth the mother of modern folk guitar. Think back to your childhood -- counselors playing Freight Train around the campfile -- she wrote that song when she was 11 years old, in 1906 !!!

  • Make's me warm and cozy ! thanks'

  • @greyladydown1 Amen! I love YouTube, and all the wonderful people that upload all these incredible material (all the ragtime, old blues, folk music, etc, etc). Many, many thanks to all these generous people!

  • 4:12 is the face of enlightment :)

  • I love YouTube! So many old bluesers on here and so many lovely ladies, I keep finding these bona fide performers, gemstones in their own right who have had so little publicity. Power to all these girls/ladies/women with their own inimitable styles, stories to tell and inspire. There are many of us who would never have known about them other than for those who loved them, hugged their performances to themselves and then shared what they loved with others. Many thanks.

  • coolest female in blues i'd say

  • @stevenmiles I to have just discovered her and yes your right, WOW, beautiful. True harmony and awesome guitaring, such a pleasure to listen to and wonderful to hear when I need time out and reground myself....

  • @jonasjar love that, at least your honest, peace be with you, from New Zealand...

  • I saw her in the early seventies with Mike Seeger at University of Washington. What a privilege.
