Mission: Impossible - Rollin Hand - The Chase

Good morning, Mr Briggs.

The video you are looking at is a musical tribute to the IMF agent known as Rollin Hand. It features clips from season 1 of the original Mission: Impossible, sadly forgotten under the blanket of the other seasons, not to mention the Tom Cruise trilogy, yet it is still the original and the best.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to put up with my fangirlish tribute until the end and hopefully enjoy seeing the marvelous Martin Landau in action.

Definitely. And they have actually started showing the first season again now on Five U.S. so maybe I exaggerated the forgotten part. I love seasons 2 and 3 as well though.

good work, must have taken a while to do that. My girlfriend ( the fan) thinks you should have more fake face ripping off as he WAS the master of disguise. Excellent work tho, we both loved it!

Personally I prefer season 2 onwards as I was never too impressed with steven hill. If Martin Landau was a young actor today he would be so very successful, as it is he was under-rated. A fine fine actor with remarkable vocal abilities. Check him out in Ed Wood

Oh I have. I have a lot of his work on DVD - he's amazing. I saw season 2 first and think it's great but I quite like Steven Hill's slightly darker, weirder leadership. He sounds like he was a pain to work with though. I'm not surprised they brought in Peter Graves instead.

P.S. I sent you a reply to your message but I don't know if it got through, it kept giving me error messages. The answer is yes, I'll be doing vids for everyone, but it might be a way off yet.

Landau was so cool in M:I. Watching this only serves to remind me how underwhelming Tom Cruise is in the film series.

@sondano and here i thought it was Landau that turned down the role for Spock...I have that on several articles. I am glad that Nimoy played Spock!! I now could never imagine anyone else playing Spock as well as Nimoy did!!! Nimoy did phone and ask Landau if it was OK to take the "Master of disguise" in Mission...which is a class act on his part!!! I love both actors and may they always be with us!

@Roger007Poore, you may be thinking of Steven Hill who played Dan on M:I. Hill is an Orthodox Jew and refused to work 7 days a week, which M:I required of the actors. Landau was on the show for 3 full seasons, one of the reasons for him leaving being the eventual decline of story quality. Hill is the actor who left M:I after 1 year (or rather was fired) because of the conflict with his religious principles. He simply didn't want to be a major part of each episode.

Rollin Hand is the best t.v. character of all time and Martin Landau is not only the best actor ever but also the most beautiful man that ever lived!! He is just gorgeous in this video!

From his small role on "North By Northwest", spots on Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits thru Mission Impossible, Space 1999 and his current work, I've thought he was incredible---and those beautiful, intense eyes !!
