I think you should consider training under more realistic conditions. Never have I heard of a man being accosted by someone who stands completely still with his hands crossed at his hips.

@uchimataleao Hi, you are absolutely right but please consider that this is not meant to be a realistic situation. These are just BASIC drills for people that are not familiar with the kubotan or martial arts in general; this video is just one of the many approaches to basic training. If you want you can check our other videos on the kubotan, there are 2 demos that show more realistic scenarios.
