This is how I clean my Springfield XD .40....I am no expert and any suggestions to what I might either be doing wrong or a better way is greatly appreciated!!!
first of all you need to know your solvents from your lubricants you use your solvents to remove led and gun powder residue and the you use your lub to make the parts move together easier. the solvent for the inside of the slide and the barrel and feed ramp. the lube i use on every part except the fireing pin. pepole say not to put to much lub inside but ive never had a problem. dont make it till its soping wet with oil just till everything has a nice shine
The first and foremost difference that most people see is that the XDm holds 16 rounds vs the standard XD holds 12. Everyone else is corrent as well though...there are small differences here and there
I know this is an old video but, I like the fact that you informed viewers that you are new to handguns and don't know a lot but learning more everyday. Its makes other new owners feel a little more confident because they are watching someone in the same boat cleaning their gun and making a good comical video at the same time. I just don't like when people who purchased a couple handguns and think they know more than the average gun owner. Cool video though
@spaceace78801 the xdm is newer but the the main differences between the two are with the xdm it has the match grade barrel, the grip texture is a bit different and removable backstraps, and the trigger reset is a tad bit shorter
i like the tooth brush idea though.

Well, you don't know the terms for the parts, but you know how to take it apart though! Is the Recoil Spring metal or plastic?

Nice to see a good demo with a gun that is actually dirty. So many folks clean their clean pistols on youtube and skimp on some parts. Thanks.
