I am a relatively young Black male (under 30) and I agree with this video. I have NEVER been arrested. I believe it is because of multiple reasons but mainly 3: 1) I speak the King's English 2) I wear clothing that fits me and I utilize a belt. 3) I am polite, I do not drive (in NYC) and the majority of my friends are not into breaking the law.

Nice video, kind of reminds me of Chris Rock's "how not to get your ass kicked by the police" another video Gates should have seen. Great job

Gates flipped-out, plain and simple. All he had to do was cooperate and do what the officer asked - something expected of EVERY citizen when a criminal investigation is taking place. The saddest part of this matter is that the 'disorderly conduct' charge was dropped. This wasn't a racist arrest - it was a simple situation escalated into something bigger by an arrogant asshole.
