Uprising: Join or Die - Planet Solaris (Part 1/2)

This is one of the first three missions in the Uprising: Join or Die campaign. This is a rather unknown and highly underrated game that, though far from flawless, offers loads of fun and is recommended to any action gamer. It is a good mixture of games like Doom and Red Alert, mixing FPS and RTS elements to create an innovative shooter with good and fast-paced gameplay.

Loved this game, and the whole "real-time action" genre which was a hybrid of a shooter and a real-time strategy game. There really hasn't been much in that genre...the Uprising series, the Battlezone series, and a game from Microsoft which I always forget.

Hey there -

I was one of the guys who worked on this game (a small team, maybe 6 engineers and 3 artists). Most fun I've ever had at a job. It totally made my day to watch this video and read the posts. Glad people still love the game.

@olaftheunready Hey! Thanks for making this game SO awesome!! I still remember this from a decade ago. (Probably my earliest memory, actually.) But I can't get the darned thing to work with newer machines, despite VM trickery, or the like. Video/sound drivers don't exist for XP or earlier, either. Then, in Win Vista & 7, there are renamed .dll mismatching problems. I just don't have the expertise to work around these issues.. any ideas? Basically.. get an old computer? :P

I never did beat this game. Pretty difficult singleplayer.
