France: Court orders release of convicted killer of Iranian ex-PM

IN THE FIELD - A French court on Tuesday granted a conditional release for Ali Vakili Rad, the Iranian agent jailed for the 1991 assassination of Shapour Bakhtiar, a former Iranian PM during the Shahs era who had fled to France.

Ex Iranian PM Bakhtiar had fought against Nazis for French liberation. This is a disgarec for French democracy and Judiciary system for freeing his convicted murderer.

eligible for parole is not the same as being entitled to it. I would not normally be suspicious that a secret deal has been struck between the Mullahs and the French but you have to see the track record of France. This was the second attempt on Bakhtiyar and the Mullahs had struck a deal with the French Interior Ministry to release him. Not to mention Khomeini being allowed to spread his vile propaganda from his French hovel.

@fidelio8866 Not sure he escaped anything, his sentence made him illegible for conditional freedom by 2009, were are now in 2010. Not that I agree with it and especially, not sure why he got that parole like treatment myself ...

Vakili may have escaped French justice but he will be made to pay. All members of the Islamic Republic are terrorists and a threat to the existence of the Iranian nation and the whole world. Iranians have a right to bear arms against any member of the Islamic Republic. Counter terror is the only solution.

I mean I can understand that France cares so much about its citizen, Clotilde Reiss, who was jailed in Iran, but I guess there is a legitimate debate about releasing a terrorist n murderer in a country which claims to be always taking the side of human rights, freedom n rule of law and....besides there is no guarantee that this guy won't go back there or anywhere else n do the same thing...
