Here's a quick way to do a time remap on some animation without destroying or changing your existing animation curves.
This is a feature built in to Maya 2011 for the global timeline, but this method works for earlier versions of Maya, and for any specified channel, so you could make as many time remap nodes as you want.
To revert back to your animation before the time remap, simply delete the timeRemapper node and it will relink the animation curves to the timeline.
