I received Amplitube iRig today, which is a €29.99 device that allows you to connect your guitar directly into your iPhone or iPad while also connecting headphones or a splitter cable to your mixing desk. With the Amplitube application, you can then play virtual guitar amps and effects directly on your mobile phone or tablet.

  • dose it work for app called ampkit???

  • @RODELA95 It works, but not very well due to iRig's inferior design, check out my two AmpKit videos

  • Just a question.. Do we have to pay to download the AmpliTube app, I mean, besides paying for iRig?

  • @BelialKnight there's a free amplitube app on the appstore, but to get all possiblities you need to buy a $20 app

  • what?!?!? you have to buy the app too?!?!? so I pay £40 for the iRig thing then £13.99 for the app?! rip off if you ask me.....

  • can you use it with the amp app on garage band on ipad and with garage band on the pc

  • how can i connect it to my pc?

  • Can u use it with the garageband amp?

  • so has anyone tried a homebrew of the irig? looks like its just a stereo y connector

  • @aonixer6 haha yeah good idea

  • @Bonanzaplaylists okay yeah but it's a cool tech man!! ;-) and about the price...jailbreak it and then have apps for free!! LOL only have to spend $30 for the iRig :D

  • @aonixer6 I hope you enjoy your Irig more than i have mine. Some of the line 6 pods are only 39.99 with a larger selection of included gear. There is a bug you might want to know about. You must load your track into the recorder before you export it. If not the loaded track is exported over and over with the name of the selected track. Just selecting it and hitting export doesnt work. You have to load it into the recorder, then go back to the list & select it & then export it. No fix yet

  • @Bonanzaplaylists I don't have a iPad yet I'm still waiting for it will be here next week...but yeah u can do more than use a ipad/ipod/iphone as a effect board!!! and some line 6 pod cost over $300

  • @aonixer6 Do you like yours? I dont think its a good deal. 90.00 just to get the basics and you still need an ipod/ipad. A Line 6 Pod has a larger selection & cheaper. The irig is setup to cost you alot in the long run if you want to sound good. A compressor, eq & reverb is another 10.00. Then another 10.00 if you want to record more than one track or master your recording. Stomp box's cost 2.99 each, if you want more than the 4 amps it comes with, those are 4.99 each & no free try outs.
