Well, more important than the regional stereotypes (which I'll refrain from supporting since they're, y'know, stupid), Obama actually DID won among the "white college-educated" and "white working-class" constituencies, in addition to women, Latinos, and of course African Americans. But that first one, college-educated, was one that he had had an advantage over since long before the general election -- so, in other words, to suggest that McCain's minority included the academia is incorrect.
