If you're using the Iphone 3g like I did, You're going to need to use someones Att sim card to activate the phone. It doesnt even have to be an active att sim card. the one that I use is not an active att card its just someones old att iphone sim card. let me know if that helps...if not then we will keep trying until we get it.

what device are you using? try two things (1) dfu by turning the device completely off then while holding the home button insert the usb cord. you should get the itunes and usb screen. then upload the firmware. (2) just by uploading the firmware straight up. I redid mine today and didn't put it in dfu mode. I'm using the Iphone 3g. if this is what you're using then once the firmware is uploaded you may need to use someones Att sim card to activate the phone so that you can get to the home screen
