A kooky elephant falls in love with a butterfly. This film was made as a 3rd Year animation group project at Sheridan College in Oakville Ontario. Group members were:
Anna Gopin (director)
Erica Pitt
Samantha Rusztyn
Kristen Balmer
Lina Demedeiros

There's a glitch or 2 here and there, but it might take until next summer to get them ironed out. We are all in 4th year now working on our individual final films. Stay tuned!!! Special thanks to Aaron White for teaching us how to colour and composite and Chantelle Tokarz for doing the sound and music work.

  • Very nice work. Beautifully told. What software did you use to animate/compile with? I'm currently learning toon boom-vector based stuff mostly on my projects and animatics.

  • Thanks so much. We appreciate your kind words. The project was a difficult one to get finished.

We animated on paper classically, scanned the drawings into photoshop, coloured them in photoshop, and sequenced them in After Effects.

A few things were also animated in After Effects. This film was done last year when we were in 3rd year, but this year in 4th year we had access to Toonboom. I didn't try it out myself but I know a few people used it in their individual final films.

  • Woah! Great job! Never thought I'd see this. Why wasn't this at the final 3rd year screening?

  • we handed it in as an Mpeg-2 file burned onto a DVD and told them that. But then later they thought it was a playable DVD...so it wasn't added to the dvd's with the rest of the films. So the day of the screening rolls around and they find that it doesn't play. Anna and Sam tried to burn another copy but Premier was being a jerk of a program and would always crash before finishing. So we went through the sreening without.

  • Thats is Awesome, if this is how great work can come out as, I hope I can make in Sheridan College, two bad its 2 years aways.

BTW, I really like how you did this, especially since you did it the classical way, and not flash base, very well done!

  • Wow, nice job! I can totally see this being played on tv.

  • Wow. I lost my mind trying to do that and went a more vector based route as I mentioned in the interest of time. I've subscribed to your channel, I think your work and storytelling is very impressive. Good luck to you, keep me posted on any future projects. -SJ

  • it is quite an accomplishment, nice work. I am currently making my own film at school right now. seems like a pipe dream to be able to complete the thing.
