Patricia Jurewicz Gives Insight Into the World of Uzbek Cotton

Patricia Jurewicz, director of the Responsible Sourcing Network (a project of As You Sow), identifies the various problems arising from forced labor and child labor used in Uzbekistan for the harvest of cotton. The Responsible Sourcing Network works with brands and retailers to rid their products from the human rights abuses associated with Uzbek cotton. Our work has led to the ratification of various conventions by the Uzbek government and we will continue to work until there has been positive change in Uzbekistan.
