"For No One" is a song written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney) that originally appeared on The Beatles' seventh album, Revolver. A ballad about the end of a relationship, it was one of McCartney's most mature and poignant works to date. Musically the track is particularly distinguished by its French horn solo.

  • what if the story of the song happens in life, i can see it and cannot do anything about it? listen it again, and just enjoy that Paul could describe our feelings fifty-six years earlier (:

  • @shankar313

Might I recommend this group: /watch?v=2TUKgaIQMX4

I thought they were lip synching at first, they sound almost identical.

  • I Love paul !!!!

  • tnx paul

  • Such a perfect emotional description...

  • @oysterjoe - Nice comment - hope your days will be filled with the joys you find in the grassy field. Take care and best wishes...

  • @paul72kate Ambrose Bierce described love as being " a temporary insanity curable by marriage". I see you've taken the cure.

I cannot think of a greater malediction than to wish me a woman. That particular malady left me many, many years ago. Nowadays the thought of a grassy field, a sunny day, a frisbee and my retriever fills me with more joy than any dallience.

Once Paul and John found "love" their song writting days ended.

    Lovely song, however.

  • @oysterjoe - Bit sad that you feel that way. Sound very disillusioned with life - I'm sorry to hear it. But aren't you lumping all women into that category though? There are some fine women in the world, really worthwhile. I hope you find one of them before it's too late. I did, and I've been happily married for 39 years. Meanwhile, this is a very good song, oysterjoe

  • @BIGBOYPITBUL Took me 40 years and all my self respect before I realized that "love" was for characters in novels.

Spend more time with your pitbull----he won't leave you [until the worthless deity calls].

Buy women when you need them-----it's all about cash anyway.

  • It's funny how this song is exactly how me and my ex girlfriend felt. She didn't care, but I did. I still love you..
