My landlord who grew up just outside of London during WW2, described it like this, that it was great fun. He could see the smoke from London burning, and enjoyed (as he was a child at the time) having war orphans to stay with his family, as it meant extra kids for him to play with! Although obviously a tradegy, the war had its lighter moments for the children at the time, as kids will always find humour in everything.

Dear Lucy,
I found it on-line at Crackle which had it in the movie section.
I hadn't seen it in quite a few years and it was simply great to see it again.
You can watch it free of charge or buy a copy and download it to your computer.
Take care and have a lovely day.

The actress whom played Dawn, hates England! Read on Wikipedia, she moved to Hollywood and married a millionaire movie guy.

This movie reminds me of my Grandfather. He would have been 9 or 10 in WWII, and he lived by the Liverpool Docks.
