adresses and dates of birth unknown... but I bet they are portuguese, or least from a country where somebody could be exposed to that kind of music at a young age. Seriously though, the people you mention are a product of our time and so we deserve them. Look at where people still play an instrument at all and it's in the countries that industrialized last.
That's where all folk music comes from, right?

Her name was Amalia Rodrigues. The best "fadista" of all times.
Now Mariza with her wonderful voice comes to revive and continue fulfil people's heart with all the Amalia's songs and her own beautiful songs.
